Thor & Nova
Back in 2006, planning my second litter with Nova, Leonie Galdermans and I decided to use a very promising young male, Thor (Can/Am/Dutch CH Flat Castle's Olympic Torch Am JH). What we did not know at the time is that Thor would take 'Best of Winners' at the US Specialty in June 2007! On July 9 2007, eight puppies were born, 5 males and 3 females, all in good health.
Thor is a direct descendant of the best British lines, particularly with his great grand-mother Maddy (Waverton Medeira), who gave to the breed the 2003 Top stud dog in England, Waverton Toby Ale, a liver dog. Thor completed his Canadian Championship in two week-ends in April 2007 and his American one in four consecutive trials on June 23 2007. Eight puppies were born on July 9, all healthy (5 males and 3 females).
Out of this litter came two great dogs:
Modi (Am CH Knightcastle Modi D'Avignon MH RN WCX CGC HOF). He was a fantastic hunter and was the first Knightcastle dog with a Master Hunter ( MH ) title. In 2015, Modi became the first Knightcastle dog to be invited to the National Master in SC and was the only flat-coated to pass the series! He is also the second Knightcastle American Champion ( CH ). Modi is officially a Knightcastle Ambassador and was introduced to the Hall of Fame in 2016. Thank you Philip Dewey! Modi passed away in February 2018.
Tora (Can Ch Knightcastle Tora At Bodiam RN WC CGN TT). She was Andy Teas' best friend and his kennel's foundation girl (Aqua Terra) in Nova Scotia. She passed away in May 2015.
